Course Description:Â
This course covers research around the effects of stress and sleep on the body, how that impacts the way we function and live in general. The course then shifts and focuses on research around self-care and improving how we can better manager our stress and sleep in order to be more joyful, effective and fulfilled in our work and personal lives.
By the conclusion of this workshop, participants will:
- At least one negative effect of stress
- Describe the impact lack of sleep has on themselves
- At least one self-care strategy
About the Trainer:Â
Rebeca Chavez (she/her/ella) is the first in her family to graduate with an Associate’s in Early Childhood Education and a Bachelor’s in Computer Science. Although Rebeca’s post-grad career began in data analysis and research, Rebeca slowly pivoted her energies back to the education realm she started in. With a background in early childhood development, Rebeca curated curriculum and facilitated circles in programs aimed at young children and their families, such as programs for young moms in alternative education. Rebeca has also researched and crafted culturally aware programming that serves youth and their families navigating the juvenile justice system. Being a native to the Mexican state of Guerrero, Rebeca also strives to provide an indigenous lens to her facilitation in programs. Rebeca’s areas of expertise are with early childhood development and families, providing culturally aware programming, and guiding harm reduction principles in substance use with youth.
CE’s: Course meets the qualifications for 2 hours of continuing education credit for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and/or LEPs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. CAMFT Provider #129412.
Community Solutions is approved by the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists to sponsor continuing education for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs and/or LEPs. Community Solutions maintains responsibility for this program/course and its content.
Course completion certificates will be issued at the end of the course upon verification of attendance and once the required course evaluation has been completed.
