Trauma-Informed Professional Development Workshop Series- Session 3

This 3-part training series is targeted towards social service and corrections professionals who serve in San Benito County.

Session 1: An Introduction to Trauma-Informed Care – An overview of the ACEs Study and the impact of trauma on development

Session 2: Intergenerational Trauma – An introduction to trauma’s impact across generations through both environmental and biological factors.  A trauma survivor will join for a panel discussion.

Session 3: Vicarious Trauma & Self-Care – A workshop teaching the impact of supporting the trauma of others and strategies for meaningful self-care.

About the Trainer:

Lisa Colliss is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the Clinical Supervision & Training Manager at Community Solutions. Lisa has clinical and training experience in a variety of evidence-based practices and trauma-informed care, including TF-CBT, Seeking Safety, Mindfulness, and the use of movement and yoga in trauma work.   She has served as a clinician in large community-based organizations, an inpatient psychiatric hospital and in private practice with experience providing individual and group therapy to clients of all ages.

CEUs: Each session is approved for 3 hours of continuing education units for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs and/or LEPs as required by the California B.B.S. under CEPA Provider #129412.
