Holiday Giving Program

Help bring holiday joy to a local family in need

Our Holiday Giving Program matches local donors to families in need served by our agency in order to provide gifts and other holiday essentials.

Every year volunteers and donors come together to provide holiday gifts and essentials to more than 600 children and families in need in our local community.

Ways to Participate

    • Volunteer – Volunteers are needed for our year-round committee to help coordinate the program. Additional volunteers are needed in November and December to assist with short-term tasks such as sorting and wrapping gifts; setting up and staffing the gift distribution center; and staffing our “gift warehouse days” where staff can select gifts for clients.

    • Adopt A Family – Community members are invited to “adopt” a family for the holiday season and donate one “wish list” item and one “needed” item for each person in the family they adopt. Donors choose the size of family they wish to adopt.

    • Donate New Toys or Gifts – Donations of individual toys and/or gifts are needed to help fulfill the holiday wishes for our families and children. This is a great option for businesses or organizations wishing to hold a holiday gift drive.

    • Donate Gift Cards – Gift cards for Walmart, Target, groceries and gas are especially helpful for our families who are in need of basic necessities, even during the holidays. Walmart and Target gift cards are also a favorite item for our teen and young adult clients.

    • Make a Cash Donation and let our volunteers do the shopping for you! When you Donate Online choose “Holiday Giving Program” where the form says “select a cause designation.” Our volunteers will happily use your gift to buy much-needed items from our clients wish lists. At Community Solutions I met some wonderful women who helped me with my fears and helped me understand that I did not deserve to be abused by anyone.

Luz, age 50, Solutions to Violence

[Community Solutions] helped me with my problems and were there when I was having hard times. They have helped my family with a place to live and helped us pay some bills and buy some food when we needed it.

Serena, age 15, Child & Youth Behavioral Health

I cannot describe very well but all I know is that each day is getting better. Your program helps.

Jin, age 62, Adult Behavioral Health

Thanks to the program, I left the ugly house I was living in that had two small windows for the 8 of us, dirt floors, broken windows, no door, and the toilet always clogging. Now my children and I have a nice apartment where we have more space, privacy, and carpet where we can be barefoot.
